Best RV Parks in San Antonio, TX

San Antonio is a solid winter base for RVers, with mild, mostly snow-free winters that draw snowbirds and long-stay guests. Summers are long and hot, so shade and a pool count for a lot in the warm months. Visitors come for the Alamo and the River Walk, SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and the five Spanish colonial missions that make up the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Texas. Lackland and Fort Sam Houston bring plenty of extended stays too. Parks cluster on the East Side near I-10, along I-35 and I-37 on the south side, and out west near Alamo Ranch and Loop 1604.

Ready for a Texas summer storm?

San Antonio summers are long and hot, and a thunderstorm can knock out park power right when you need it most. A portable power station will not run a rooftop AC for long, but it can keep fans moving, phones charged and the fridge cold through an outage, and it is just as handy on a day at the lake or a side trip into the Hill Country.

If you mostly want backup for the fridge, read our guide to how long a power station runs a refrigerator.
