Corpus Christi is a water town. Most RVers come to fish the bays and the surf, kiteboard and windsurf on the Laguna Madre, or go birding along the coast, and Padre Island National Seashore lies just to the south. Mild winters make it a classic Winter Texan base, so many parks offer both short and long stays. Summer brings heat, humidity and the Gulf hurricane season. Parks cluster in three pockets: Flour Bluff and Laguna Shores on the bay side, North Padre Island toward Whitecap Beach, and North Beach near the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington.

A Flour Bluff park the same family has owned since 1973, with 30/50-amp full hookups on concrete pads up to 80 feet under mature shade trees. An outdoor pool, private restroom and shower suites, a dog park and a fish cleaning station are on site, about 8 miles from North Padre Island.
