Gulf Shores and neighboring Orange Beach front Alabama's short stretch of Gulf coastline, and the sugar-white sand is what draws most RVers down. The area runs on two seasons: summer brings beach vacations and family trips, and from roughly October through April snowbirds settle in for the winter, often on long-stay rates. Parks line up along three corridors: Gulf Shores Parkway and AL-59 in town, Fort Morgan Road heading west down the peninsula, and inland around Foley and Elberta near OWA, usually 2 to 10 miles from the beach. Like the rest of the northern Gulf, this coast keeps a close eye on the tropics from June to November.

Covered when the power blinks?
Between boat days on the back bays, beach afternoons and whole winters spent in one spot, Gulf Shores RVers lean on their power more than most. A portable power station runs the fridge, a fan or a CPAP when a storm knocks the park offline, and it comes along to the beach for phones and a speaker. Solar panels keep it charged without a generator.
