The Victron Energy Lithium SuperPack 12.8V/200Ah (M8) is an all-in-one, plug-and-play LiFePO4 battery featuring an internal Battery Management System (BMS) for protection and safety . It is a simple and compact replacement for lead-acid batteries in many applications, including RVs, marine vessels, and off-grid solar setups.

  • Integrated BMS: The internal BMS protects the battery from common issues, such as over-discharge, overcharge, and high temperatures, without the need for additional external components.
  • High efficiency: With a round-trip energy efficiency of 92%, it is significantly more efficient than a typical lead-acid battery, which averages 80%.
  • Longer cycle life: The battery offers an estimated 2,500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge (DoD), which is substantially more than most lead-acid alternatives.
  • Lighter weight: At approximately 21 kg (46.3 lbs), it is considerably lighter than an equivalent lead-acid battery.
  • Simple installation: Designed for "drop-in" installation, it requires no extra components for system setup, making it very user-friendly.
  • Parallel connectivity only: You can connect multiple SuperPack batteries in parallel to increase your total amp-hour (Ah) capacity. However, series connection is not permitted.

Important considerations While the  SuperPack  is a simplified solution, its all-in-one design has a few limitations compared to Victron's standard Smart Lithium batteries, which use an external BMS. 
  • Limited system control: With the  SuperPack , you lose the ability to monitor and influence detailed battery settings via the Victron Connect app, a feature available with the "Smart" series batteries.
  • Cannot connect in series: This limits the system voltage to 12.8V, unlike the Smart batteries which can be connected in series to create 24V or 48V systems.
  • Lower current ratings: The continuous and peak current ratings are lower than some other Victron lithium batteries because the BMS is internal.
  • Power consumption monitoring: One user noted needing to manage power consumption to avoid the batteries shutting down, suggesting some high-draw applications may be better suited for the more flexible Smart battery system.
