The Tigo 200 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) with generator support is a key component for a Tigo residential solar and energy storage system. When a grid outage occurs, the ATS automatically switches a home's power source from the utility grid to a backup power system consisting of solar, battery, and/or a generator.
The Tigo ATS is designed for whole-home backup and is compatible only with other Tigo Energy Intelligence (EI) system components.
Key features
Automatic power switching: The ATS automatically detects a grid outage and facilitates a seamless transfer of power to your backup sources. Once grid power is restored, it switches back and allows the battery to recharge.
Whole-home backup: The 200A model allows for the backup of your entire home's electrical panel, not just a dedicated essential loads sub-panel.
Generator support: The generator-compatible model supports a pure sine wave generator up to 24 kW with a two-wire auto-start function. The generator can supplement power and charge the batteries when there is insufficient solar production.
Safety features: A built-in service disconnect on the 200A model can eliminate the need for an expensive main panel upgrade. It also includes a manual bypass switch for maintenance or emergencies.
Durable and versatile enclosure: The ATS is housed in a NEMA 4X/IP65-rated enclosure, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations and protecting it from dust and water.
System monitoring: As part of the Tigo EI platform, the ATS provides comprehensive monitoring data, which is accessible via the Tigo EI mobile app.

Input/output: 120/240 VAC split-phase.
Generator requirements: For automatic operation, the generator must have 240V and 60 Hz output, provide a pure sine wave, feature a two-wire auto-start, and produce less than 5% total harmonic distortion (THD).
Maximum power: Approximately 10,000 W continuous from backup, with a peak of 12,000 W.
Fast transfer time: Less than 500 milliseconds when switching to a generator and less than 2 seconds for a grid-to-battery transfer.
Warranty: Covered for 132 months (11 years) as part of the Tigo Energy Intelligence platform.
