The Sol-Ark 40 kWh Indoor Lithium Battery System is the L3 HV-40KWH-30K, a high-voltage, modular energy storage solution designed for commercial and industrial applications. It is intended for indoor use and pairs with a Sol-Ark 30K-3P-208V hybrid inverter. 
Key specifications
  • Capacity: The system provides a total nameplate capacity of 40.96 kWh, with 36.86 kWh of usable energy. It achieves this with eight internal 5.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery modules.
  • Inverter: The system is compatible with the Sol-Ark 30K-3P-208V hybrid inverter, which provides up to 30 kW of backup power. The batteries can also be integrated into parallel inverter setups.
  • Voltage: The high-voltage system operates at a nominal DC voltage of 410V.
  • Safety features: The unit includes an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) for safety and performance optimization. It is also designed with an aerosol-based fire suppression system. The system is UL9540A certified, a safety standard for energy storage systems.
  • Design and installation: The indoor system features an IP20-rated enclosure for controlled environments like electrical or mechanical rooms. The modular design allows for future expansion.
  • Performance: The battery has a recommended 90% depth of discharge and a continuous discharge rate of 100A, with a peak discharge of 125A. It has a rated cycle life of over 6,000 cycles.
  • Warranty: The system includes a 10-year product and performance warranty. 

Commercial applications Due to its high-voltage and high-capacity design, this system is primarily used for commercial and industrial applications with significant energy needs. Its features allow for flexible power management: 
  • Backup power: Provides reliable, long-lasting power during grid outages to ensure business continuity.
  • Peak shaving: Helps reduce high utility demand charges by discharging the battery during periods of peak electricity consumption.
  • Time-of-use optimization: Stores energy when electricity is cheapest (off-peak) and uses it during more expensive on-peak hours to lower energy costs.
