The SimpliPHI 6.6kWh Stackable Lithium Battery uses a dedicated  SimpliPHI 6.6 Battery Controller . Each stack of up to three batteries requires one controller for power management and communication. The system also needs an EnergyTrak Gateway (ET-GWY-10) for firmware updates, monitoring, and future integrations. 
SimpliPHI 6.6 Battery Controller  features The controller is designed by Briggs & Stratton to work seamlessly with the 6.6kWh batteries, which connect via "RapidStak" connectors that handle both power and communication. 
  • Communication: The controller communicates with compatible inverters, like the SimpliPHI 6kW Hybrid Inverter and Sol-Ark, using CAN and RS485 ports.
  • System management: It enables precise energy management by monitoring charge levels and controlling charging and discharging.
  • Scalability: A single system can include up to six controllers to manage up to 18 batteries, providing a total capacity of nearly 120 kWh.
  • Durability: The controller is housed in an IP65-rated steel case, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. 

EnergyTrak Gateway (ET-GWY-10) Beyond the battery controller, a full SimpliPHI 6.6 system requires the EnergyTrak Gateway. This component provides the overall system intelligence and cloud connectivity. 
  • Function: The gateway enables over-the-air firmware updates and serves as the central hub for the EnergyTrak monitoring platform.
  • Monitoring and control: The EnergyTrak system allows professional installers to monitor and maintain the system remotely, while homeowners can use a mobile app to check solar generation, battery levels, and energy usage.
