The Fortress Power 8kW Envy is an all-in-one hybrid inverter for whole-home solar storage and backup. It operates on 120/240VAC and uses a 48VDC battery system, with a 13,000-watt maximum photovoltaic (PV) input via its dual Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) inputs. This versatility allows the inverter to work for grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid applications. 
Key specifications AC performance
  • Continuous AC power: 8,000W at 240V for both on-grid and off-grid use.
  • AC passthrough: Up to 21,000W of continuous power to your loads when connected to the grid or a generator.
  • Peak power: 16,000W for up to 500ms to handle short-term power surges.
  • Output voltage: 120V/240V split-phase for standard residential use.
