The EG4 Lithium 12V 400Ah Server Rack Battery is a high-capacity, LiFePO4 battery with a long lifespan, an integrated Battery Management System (BMS), and an LCD screen. It is designed for rack-mounting in standard 19-inch server racks and is suitable for various energy storage applications, including solar and off-grid systems.  Key features and specifications of the EG4 12V 400Ah battery include:
  • Capacity and power: With a 400Ah capacity and 12.8V nominal voltage, the battery offers 5.12 kWh of energy storage.
  • Long-life cells: The battery uses Tier One, A+ prismatic LiFePO4 cells, rated for 7,000 deep discharge cycles (up to 80% DoD). EG4 states this can provide over 15 years of daily use and has a 10 to 20-year design life.
  • Integrated LCD screen: An LCD on the battery provides real-time access to important battery data, such as voltage, state of charge (SOC), and temperature.
  • Built-in BMS: The advanced BMS manages and protects the battery from over-voltage, over-current, under-voltage, and short circuits. It also handles temperature protection and passive cell balancing.
  • Expandability: Up to 16 batteries can be connected in parallel, allowing for large-scale energy storage systems with capacities up to 81.9 kWh while maintaining BMS communication.
  • Communication: The battery offers selectable closed-loop communication with a wide range of inverters, including those from EG4, Victron, Schneider, and others. It includes an RS485 communication port and sometimes offers Bluetooth monitoring with an app.
  • Server rack design: Its compact 3.5U design is built to fit standard 19-inch server racks, making installation clean and organized.
  • Plug-and-play setup: For simple parallel configurations, the battery features a plug-and-play design that requires minimal setup.
  • Safety features: Newer versions include onboard fire arrestors for enhanced safety in high-risk environments.
