The Discover Energy SBU (Smart Backup Unit) Series, specifically the SBU-200, is an intelligent energy management device designed to work with Discover's lithium battery systems. Its primary function is to provide automatic power transfer, ensuring a seamless energy backup solution for residential and small commercial systems during grid outages.
How it works In the event of a grid power failure, the SBU-200 acts as an automatic transfer switch, drawing electricity from the connected battery and inverter system to power critical loads. It operates in both on-grid and off-grid conditions, allowing homes to continuously receive power from their battery storage. The SBU is primarily designed to work with SAJ's H2 high-voltage series storage inverters, which are manufactured by Discover Energy's partner, SAJ Electric.
